What if you gave yourself permission to amplify your greatness?

I mean, categorically take all of what makes you amazing, and boldly allow your truest self to shine.

Let’s be real. We all have that one thing (and in most cases, multiple things) that we absolutely love and have an innate ability and desire to do more than anything else.

Pssst….your authenticity is showing!

There is something that God wanted done that required your existence. Your purpose was designed before you were born.

The essence of who you are created to be exists within you. It is your divine assignment.

What does it mean to be authentic?

Leadership teacher, Lance Secretan defines authenticity this way: “Authenticity is the alignment of head, mouth, heart, and feet–thinking, saying, feeling, and doing the same thing consistently.”  In other words, all components that make up who you are must be in sync to serve your authentic self.

Oprah Winfrey says, “The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams.” Be true to yourself and maximize your God-given gifts and live life on purpose!

Check out 5 Steps to Embrace F.A.L.L.: Freedom to Authentic, Limitless Living:

  1.  Introduce Yourself to Your Self

There are far too many people living a life that is contradictory to their calling. Many spend countless hours at jobs that bring very little satisfaction.

We often fall prey to external dream killers. People who are unhappy in their lives often whisper sweet negatives in the ears of those who dare to dream, plan and act on their passions.

Regardless of outside distractions, we all have an inner voice that fervently reminds us of who we truly are. The reality is that we are controlled by our fear of stepping outside of the expectations of others.

Your Action: Stand in front of the mirror, look yourself in the eyes and introduce yourself to your Self out loud. The introduction should start with your name and who you truly are in your spirit – not what you do for a living. If your passion is painting, introduce yourself as an artist who paints.

Be specific.  Speaking your truth empowers the courage to take steps toward becoming your true self.

  1.  Commit to Being You

Throw away the mask. You have awakened the beautiful spirit within and there is no turning back!

Self-awareness comes with no refunds and no returns. It’s time to commit to honoring God’s miracle in you.

Your Action: Goals, goals, goals! The fastest path to purpose is paved with achievable goals. Commit to one goal per day that you must accomplish to serve your authentic self.

Write them down and place them wherever you can see them – the refrigerator, bathroom mirror, etc.  If your passion is ballet and you desire to hone your craft, one of your goals should be to find a dance instructor or register for lessons.

Be intentional in completing each goal before moving on to the next.

  1.  Mind Your Circle

A funny thing happens when someone is led by a purpose driven mindset – their circle of friends suddenly shrinks.

The inevitable culling of the herd commences, and those left standing are sure to be worthy of engaging.

Maintain a circle of friends who are in alignment with and supportive of your journey.

Your Action: Network with people who share your interests. Your environment provides opportunity. Be bold…use where you are to cultivate relationships; whether at the job or at the gym, don’t be too shy to introduce your Self to those who can play an integral part in your growth.

  1.  Determine Your Destiny

You have discovered your authenticity and have committed to showing up as the best version of your Self.

Part of the journey toward living an authentic life requires stepping outside of the box and taking bold steps toward your destiny.

Your Action: Go for it. Paulo Coelho writes in his book, The Alchemist: “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”

Dreams, plans, actions and prayer deliver on the promises of your heart’s desire. Good or bad. Your destiny is determined by actions taken, dreams awakened and fears shaken. Organize your goals. Identify next steps. Acknowledge the fire in your belly (this confirms you’re ready!).

Trust in the Higher Power, activate Faith and move forward towards authentically, wonderful You.

  1. Live a Fulfilled, Authentic Life Without Limits!

The tallest oak tree is derived from a tiny acorn.

Giants were once knee-high to a tadpole as my country cousins would say. Greatness is what we achieve by taking small yet significant steps towards discovering and becoming our authentic selves.

The good news is, it’s never too late to breathe life into who we are meant to be.

Your Action: Know thyself, accept thyself, love thyself.  Use your gifts and share them with the world. The great Myles Munroe offered this profound message to those of us who are playing small: “Don’t be a pigeon if you were born to be an eagle. Experience God’s altitude for your life.”

Be deliberate in your pursuit of purpose.

Seek out opportunities that will stretch and grow your knowledge. Be unapologetically joyful, honest and transparent. Be humble. And whenever the opportunity arises, always be of service to others.

An authentic life is one without limits.

Give yourself permission to embrace your authenticity and prepare to fly!
