Have you ever had one of those days when you awoke feeling less than good?
Maybe there wasn’t anything particularly wrong, but you were awakened to the realities of everyday life.
Going to a job you dread, taking your children to school, planning your dinner menu, all while trying to remember if you turned off the lights in your bedroom before you rushed out the door…
That’s exactly how my morning started out.
My morning commute usually consists of praying with my son before he gets out of the car, grabbing a cup of coffee from BP, and flipping between the Tom Joyner Morning Show and the CDs in my disc changer. Today began same way, only it was cloudy and I didn’t feel like getting out of bed, let alone going to work.
About 15 minutes into my commute as my mind began to wander, I drifted back to a daily confession posted on my bathroom wall.
GOD has been moving in my life in a mighty way. I’ve seen prayers answered and lives changed (mainly mine) so what in the world did I have to feel down about?
At that very moment I realized that I had to take my thoughts captive. I wasn’t going to succumb to the enemy’s tricks to get me to take my focus off of an all loving, all powerful GOD and place them onto myself.
Regardless of the trials that the day might bring, I was confident that whatever GOD brought me to, He was also going to bring me through.
His word states: ”…But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:31 NIV)
Because my hope is in the Lord, I trust Him to renew my strength.
I’m choosing to soar above all of the negative thoughts and things that would hold me back from fulfilling GOD’s plan for my life.
I’m choosing to run toward my destiny and will not become weary when faced with challenges or opposition.
As you read this, I pray that GOD is renewing your strength right now. I pray that you will take every negative thought captive and continue to believe GOD for all of the things you’ve asked for.
I pray that you will see the wonder and glory of GOD all around you. That you will choose to see the sun even when clouds fill the sky, and the beauty in all things that your Heavenly Father has created just for you.
As always, be blessed being who GOD has called you to be!
