Purpose.

One word with many definitions, as defined by Merriam-Webster:

1. The reason why something is done or used : the aim or intention of something
2. The feeling of being determined to do or achieve something
3. The aim or goal of a person : what a person is trying to do, become, etc.

In many ways, Nia is the first step toward the fulfillment of mine; my digital platform love letter to confident, yet vulnerable Black women like myself, who long to reach the pinnacle of #BlackGirlPurpose. Our content encourages self-love, inspiration, travel, career, purpose & motivation. A place we can go to get POSITIVE information and share our experiences.

Why do this?

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy my own guilty pleasures and am definitely not against sitting down with a bowl of popcorn and cup of vanilla tea to watch the latest installment of TV wives (and non-wives) acting crazy in any number of cities across the country.

But where do we currently go for thought-starters about making positive changes in our lives? To hear the stories and experiences of women just like us – confident and successful in many ways, but flawed and a work-in-progress in others?

I hope to work with you to make Nia that place.

It’s time for us to change our conversations, including the ones we have with ourselves.

Nia is truly a start-up. No huge budgets or corporate backers. Just my God-given vision and a growing team willing to lend their talent and voice to a platform that will hopefully play a role in changing the tone of our media.

The most important piece is YOU, our readers.

Thank you in advance for being a part of the Nia family. I want to hear from you. What do you want to see? What do you care about? Nia is a dialogue. We’re in this together.

Mother. Daughter. Friend. Rock. Superwoman. I’m proud of who I am becoming. Nia is my attempt to step out on faith and do what He wants me to do. I pray that Nia can bring you closer to living in your purpose too.

It all begins with you.

When you are happy with who you are and resolute in your goals, dreams, and vision for your life…nothing can stop you. Nothing can stop us.

Let’s do this!

Sincerely,
Ianna Ali
